Quality Management Approach

XYLON has well established software quality assurance (SQA) process.

XYLON has evolved a quality management system (QMS) that is firmly founded on its quality policies. The QMS addresses all quality assurance practices and is well documented for development, maintenance, and conversion type projects. The QMS consists of well-documented process handbooks, project procedures, standards and guidelines for every phase of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

The QMS splits the SDLC into various phases and the phases into activities using the ETVX (entry criteria, tasks, validation, exit criteria) representation. Each phase can be considered a high-level activity with specific ETVX criteria. If the entry criteria for an activity are not fulfilled, a work ahead needs to be obtained from senior management to continue work for the subsequent phase. Risk, if any, are identified and evaluated prior to seeking such approvals. This practice assures that there is validation for every activity of a project.

As shown in the following figure, the SQA process takes various project documents & items as inputs and runs it through a set of review and audit activities to generate a set of reports, which are analyzed for root causes and variances to develop and implement continuous improvement plans. The SQA process involves various management & project groups, draws it guidelines and principles from the QMS documents & checklists, and measures the inputs against a set of well-defined metrics.
